At the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show, Isuzu showcased a full range of their models, presenting various innovations and options, including Electric Vehicles (EVs), to meet the needs of customers for all lifestyles.

Isuzu presented a full lineup of vehicles that meet every need and lifestyle. The highlights included the prototype electric pickup truck ‘Isuzu D-Max EV Concept’ and the electric truck ‘Isuzu Elf EV,’ which is for moving towards carbon neutrality. The showcase also featured inspirational custom vehicles and popular standard models across 5 decorative zones in total 15 vehicles. Plus, various fun activities are also organized at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2024, held from March 27 to April 7, 2024  at Challenger 1-3, Impact Muang Thong Thani.

Mr. Takashi Hata, Managing Director of Tri Petch Isuzu Sales Co., Ltd., has revealed that “On March 19th, Isuzu announced its carbon neutrality policy titled “Multi-pathways to Carbon Neutrality,” including innovations in automotive development, the advancement of clean energy, and various environmental management systems and activities.

By considering the diverse and complex needs of customers, Isuzu has brought 2 models of electric vehicles to present at the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show as follows.

1. “Isuzu D-Max EV Concept”, is a prototype electric pickup truck from a production base in Thailand that will be exported to Norway next year.

2. “Isuzu Elf EV” is an electric truck that was first introduced in Japan in March of last year. It includes various customized styles which are suitable for both off-road and racing styles .

Along with many other popular standard models, led by the team “New! Isuzu D-Max” beyond limits…conquer the world, the luxury multi-purpose vehicle “The New MU-X” as well as the new design sports pickup truck “Isuzu X-Series” Powerful…Through the universe”. With all the models including prototypes models, customized models, and standard models. It has been displayed in a specific zone to present its technological strengths as a world leader in commercial vehicles and fully meets all desires and exceeds expectations for both daily use and lifestyle.”

In addition, Mr. Takashi Hata also said that

“Isuzu is ready to support and cooperate with the Thai government policy in producing all vehicle models to meet Euro 5 exhaust standards by using DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) technology in medium and large trucks and DPD (Diesel Particulate Diffuser) systems. ) in some medium-sized trucks, Pickup trucks and, utility vehicles.

It makes Isuzu cars as Euro 5 exhaust standard vehicles to maintain excellent performance and efficiency, while also reducing unnecessary expenses. Specifically, all Isuzu models can meet the Euro 5 exhaust standards without requiring the addition of diesel engine exhaust treatment fluid, such as AdBlue, in both pickup trucks, multi-purpose vehicle and all of Isuzu trucks which is difference from other exhaust emissions treatment technology that is required adding exhaust treatment fluid such as AdBlue throughout the usage period. Although developing vehicles to meet Euro 5 standards may significantly increase production costs, Isuzu aims to avoid imposing excessive burdens on customers. Therefore, Isuzu has requested to increase the prices of Euro 5 standard vehicles as follows: 

– Isuzu vehicles with a 1.9-liter DDi Blue Power with Euro 5 engine price increase 15,000 baht

– Isuzu vehicles with a 3.0-liter DDi Blue Power Euro 5 engine price increase 20,000 baht.

There will be 5 concepts of Isuzu booths this year.

1. Electric Vehicles Zone (ISUZU EV VERSE), First time showcasing Isuzu’s electric vehicles that are ready to aim for carbon neutrality.

• The prototype electric pickup truck “Isuzu D-Max” (Isuzu D-Max EV Concept)

The 4-door pickup truck features a full-time 4-wheel drive system, using the same platform as diesel-powered pickup trucks. The newly developed “eAxle” dual motor and differential works together both front and rear and also combined with an all-new rear suspension called De-Dion which gives the driver more confidence on all road conditions. It is well-suited for pickup truck usage, providing a balance between comfort and excellent load-carrying capability.

The highlight is the use of dual electric motors for a combined maximum power of 130 kilowatts and a maximum combined torque of 325 Newton-meters. The strong body structure design increases towing capacity. There are plans to officially start production for export from its Thailand production base in 2025 and launches in some European countries such as Norway in the 2025 as well. SIt is then scheduled for the United Kingdom, Australia, Thailand, and other regions or countries. This rollout plan depends on market demand and the availability of electric vehicle charging station utilities.

• The “Isuzu Elf EV” electric truck is developed under the concept of “Isuzu Modular Architecture and Component Standard: I-MACS” for medium-sized and large-sized trucks in various formats efficiently. It was designed with the “Center Drive System EV” concept which is a specific design approach for electric trucks that emphasizes the balance of weight distribution, rear wheel distance and turning radius. It is suitable for use as light loads, short runs that require flexibility.

It uses the same platform as a diesel truck which was first launched in the world in Japan in March 2023. At the same time Isuzu has developed battery swapping technology (Battery Swapping System) to reduce battery charging time. You can also choose the battery that is available from 2-5 bales to suit the transportation distance.

– Charging: Supports the ChadeMo charging standard and also has a Regenerative Braking system which can be charged during braking back into the battery and the user can choose the level of energy recharging. Isuzu has prepared charging standards that are suitable for each country, such as the CCS2 charger which is in the development stage to support the use in Europe, etc.

2. Off Road Zone (OFF ROAD VERSE)
